The Mattamuskeet Campus Multicultural Club is closing out the year with the now traditional celebration of European Heritage Month by spending the day in the European themed-park Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia on Sunday, May 25th, 2014. We are departing campus at 5:00am and should be returning at around 1:00am on Monday, 25th. Trip fee is $60. This fee covers admission to the park and also a lunch ticket to use at your preferred restaurant inside the park. Students will require additional monies to cover their other day meals and any souvenirs or snacks they may want to purchase while at the park. Deadline to submit permission slip and trip fee is Wednesday, May 21st. Hurry before the activity bus is filled to capacity.
Celebrating Irish Heritage Month
The Club is going on a field trip to Raleigh to join the Raleigh St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival to celebrate Irish Heritage Month. We will join the hundreds of people participating in the parade and enjoy the festival. Afterwards, we will have a few hours at Crabtree Valley Mall for a shopping spree. Participating in the parade will count as club community service. Therefore, please be aware that ALL club members traveling with us are required to participate in the parade. Walking, wearing props and costumes, dancing to music, and giving away beads are part of the tasks.
The field trip will take place on Saturday, March 15th. We will be leaving campus promptly at 5:00am and will return at approximately at 8:00pm. The cost of the field trip for club members is $10.00. You may print the permission slip at the bottom of this page. The deadline to submit slip and money is Monday, March 10.
Historic Thousands on Jones St.
Celebrating Black History Month!

The Club is going on a field trip to Raleigh to join the “Historic Thousands on Jones Street” march sponsored by the NAACP to honor Black History Month and the fight for Civil Rights. We will join the thousands of people attending and walk several blocks from Jones St to the General Assembly. After we leave the concentration, we will spend a couple of hours at Frankie’s Fun Park.
The field trip will take place on Saturday, February 8th. We will be leaving campus promptly at 5:30am and will return at approximately at 7:00pm. The students will be provided bus transportation to Raleigh and back to Mattamuskeet campus. Students are responsible for their own transportation to/from school. The cost of the field trip for club member is $20.00. However, your child will need money for his/her three meals and any snacks and souvenirs he/she might want to purchase at the park that day if he/she depletes the money in the fun card received. Multicultural Club Celebrating Christmas

To start the school year with a multi sensory experience, the Club is going on a field trip to BUSCH GARDENS in Williamsburg, VA, to enjoy Christmas Town with a blanket of six-million glittering lights, breathtaking shows and traditional Christmas culinary delights from different European countries(Germany, Italy, Ireland, England, Scotland, and France). They will also take a step into the not-so-distant-past at Holiday Hills™ where mid-twentieth century Christmas celebrations come to life. Sip some hot chocolate and let the warmth of the season take over. Please be mindful that this is a special Christmas celebration at Busch Gardens and that all major rides will not be operating with a couple of exceptions.
The field trip will take place on Saturday, December 21st. We will be leaving campus promptly at 11:00am and will return at approximately at 12:30am on Sunday, December 22nd. The students will be provided bus transportation to Williamsburg and back to Mattamuskeet campus. Students are responsible for their own transportation to/from school. The cost of the field trip for club member is $30.00. However, your child will need money for his/her lunch at Golden Corral and Dinner at a Fast Food Restaurant and any snacks and souvenirs he/she might want to purchase at the park that day.
